DESCRIPTION For our 2026 member exhibition, “Let It All Out” DVAA invites visual artists, writers, and performers to share their emotions about the year ahead. Whether you are feeling frustration, anxiety, hope, or desire about the coming days, let’s reach deep into our bowels and share what we’re feeling.

Work must be ready and delivered to DVAA for installation by February 3rd

 

ABOUT THE CURATOR Tanner Simon is the Gallery & Grants Manager at DVAA. He received his MFA in 2024 from the University of South Florida with a focus on painting. Tanner has exhibited extensively in Florida, most recently at Art Center Sarasota and the USF Contemporary Art Museum.       

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

  • Anyone can apply, but you must be a current, active member of DVAA if your work is selected for exhibition
  • All artwork will be juried from the online submission portal “Submittable” 
  • The entry portal will be open from December 2, 2025, and close on January 6, 2026
  • All artworks selected by the curator are final. 
  • Each artist may submit up to three (3) works for consideration. 
  • All artwork must be original (no digital print reproductions of original works). 
  • Artwork may be for sale. DVAA takes a 25% commission for members.  
  • Submitting artwork previously exhibited at DVAA or in previous DVAA events is not encouraged. 
  • Artworks made within the past 5 years are preferred.

  • Artists will be NOTIFIED of the curator's selections on or before January 13, 2026.

  • Work must be delivered on time and removed at the end of the exhibit    

 

Delivery requirements 

  • Delivery of artwork must happen by Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the DVAA from 11 am – 4 pm 
  • Artwork should be delivered/shipped to Attn: Tanner Simon, Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, 37 Main Street, Narrowsburg, NY 12764 
  • Artists are responsible for shipping to and from DVAA. 

 

 About DVAA The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA), founded in 1976, serves as Arts Council for Sullivan County, New York. We present programs in the visual, performing, literary, and media arts and service a county- and valley-wide constituency of artists, arts groups, and the general public. Our mandate is to lead collaborations that advance the arts; to encourage and support cultural programs relevant to all citizens; and to provide services to individual artists, arts organizations, and the area’s arts community. DVAA's galleries are located at 37 Main Street Narrowsburg NY, approximately 2 hours from NYC. Open year-round, DVAA hosts over a dozen exhibitions annually and is free and open to the public, Thursday - Sunday 11 am - 4 pm.

The grant is administered by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA), whose mission is to advance the arts in the region through the support and encouragement of artists, innovative programs, advocacy, and alliances with arts organizations, businesses, and government.      


 

In 2026, DVAA will administer up to six discipline-specific fellowships to Sullivan County artists. The artist must live and work in Sullivan County. Each artist will receive $5,000 to facilitate the creation of new artwork in 2026. We are accepting applications for the following disciplines: Visual Arts, Literary Arts, and Compositional Arts. The purpose of this fellowship is to stimulate the creation of new and significant work. The guidelines can be found here.

Deadline Extended - Applicants are required to complete and submit an application prior to January 31, 2026 (11:59 pm EST) to be considered for funding.      


 

Technical Assistance For technical assistance in using Submittable or uploading forms, please visit Submittable's FAQ page.   Each time you work on an application, you can save it as a draft for 21 days. During that time, you may return to work on your entry before the deadline by signing in to Submittable. The 21-day time frame is renewed each time you work on the application. WELCOME! This is the form to submit a show proposal to the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance for consideration as part of our 2026 Performing Arts Season. 

DVAA’s performing arts program features high-quality work by both emerging and professional artists with an emphasis on those who live and work full or part-time in the Mid-Hudson, Catskill, or Upper Delaware River Regions. 


Our programming includes theatrical productions, spoken word, live music spanning classical music and jazz to singer/songwriters and immersive soundscapes, puppetry, film, dance, experimental theater, children’s programming, staged readings, and more. 


DVAA is committed to providing rural audiences with access to intimate live performance experiences that spotlight artistic excellence, invite engagement, and blur the boundaries of traditional art forms.


Never-before-seen works, emerging artists, and performers from historically marginalized backgrounds are particularly encouraged to submit. We are committed to accessibility and performers of all abilities are welcome.

 

About DVAA's Performance Venues DVAA boasts two ADA accessible venues: the Tusten Theatre and Krause Recital Hall, both located in Narrowsburg, NY, approximately 2 hours from NYC. 

· The Tusten Theatre is located at 210 Bridge St., Narrowsburg, NY. The century-old deco theater seats 150 and features a proscenium stage, retractable projector screen, installable Marley floor, and a Baby Grand Piano. Stage measures 22 ft wide x 15 ft deep.

We present programming in the Tusten Theatre between mid-April and mid-December each year.

We primarily present one-off performances but are open to short runs featuring multiple performances over a given weekend.
 

· Krause Recital Hall is located at the DVAA building at 37 Main St., Narrowsburg, NY. The space seats 80 and features a 1913 Mason Hamlin Grand Piano. Parlor space measures 22'3" ft wide x 21'5" feet deep.

Krause Recital Hall is home to DVAA’s winter salon series presented between February and mid-April as well as special events during the year.

 

Guidelines and Selection Process Proposals are reviewed and selected by DVAA’s Executive Director and Performing Arts Manager. DVAA prioritizes work by local, regional, minority, and previously unrecognized artists. Additionally, we welcome submissions from artists in the New York Metro, Philadelphia Metro, and Northern New Jersey region. If you've submitted or performed at DVAA before, feel free to submit again. Special consideration will be made for entries by artists outside of those areas whose work addresses regional topics including social, historical, communal, and environmental concerns relevant to the Sullivan Catskills and Upper Delaware Valley. 

 

Notification You will receive a confirmation email upon submitting your proposal. DVAA’s Performing Arts Manager may follow up with additional questions pertaining to the piece or the intention of the show. DVAA will notify applicants via email if their proposal has been selected for the 2026 Performing Arts Season.

WELCOME! This is the application form for Exhibition Opportunities at the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance in 2027. DVAA's Visual Arts program includes solo, two-person, group, and curated exhibitions. In addition, DVAA produces pop-up exhibitions, and hosts artist talks, and related programs throughout the year. The exhibition program features high-quality work by emerging and professional artists with an emphasis on those who live and work full or part-time in the Mid-Hudson, Catskill, or Upper Delaware River Regions. All media and styles are welcome as are installations and proposals by curators.         

 About DVAA's Galleries    DVAA's galleries are located at the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance at 37 Main Street Narrowsburg NY, approximately 2 hours from NYC. Open year-round, DVAA hosts over a dozen exhibitions annually and is free and open to the public, Thursday - Saturday, 11 am - 4 pm & by appointment.         

 The Alliance Gallery is located on DVAA's first floor. It measures 340 square feet and features 104 linear feet of wall space (including hallway space) with 9-foot high ceilings.          

 The Loft Gallery, located on the second floor, is handicapped accessible. The Loft Gallery is 710 square feet and features 100 linear feet of wall space.  The ceiling height in the loft gallery ranges from 7 feet to 8 feet 10 inches.   

DVAA's exhibitions and related programs are supported in part by the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency, with support from the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.         Selection Process 

  • Each year following an open call for entries, DVAA convenes a jury of three to five visual arts professionals to select the exhibitions for the following year.
  • DVAA facilitates a "blind-jurying process" meaning that all applicants are represented by a number and their names are withheld.
  • Jurying is based solely on the projected images of artwork, so it's important to submit consistent, high-quality images.
  • DVAA assembles a new panel of jurors each year, so artists are strongly encouraged to re-apply if their work is not selected.

 Restrictions

  • Artists who have previously received solo exhibitions may reapply after 5 years. (E.g. if you received a solo show in 2022, you are eligible may apply for a show in 2027).
  • DVAA primarily focuses on presenting the work of artists in our region, this includes the Sullivan Catskills, Upper Delaware Valley, and Mid-Hudson Region. Additionally, we welcome submissions from artists in the New York Metro, Phili-Metro, and Northern New Jersey region.
